PFTT - Information

It is been 10 years since the Polish Foundation for Trenchless Technology was founded.

On 01.10.2008 passed exactly 10 years since the Polish Foundation for Trenchless Technology (PFTT) - the organization affiliated with International Society for Trenchless Technology (ISTT) based in London was founded. This year the NO-DIG AWARD laureate in Academic Category became PFTT and Kielce University of Technology for organizing the first in the world post graduate course in trenchless technologies. The information about this success was published among the others in “Trenchless Technology”, “Trenchless International” and in few Polish magazines.
The main purpose of the activity of PFTT is to propagate trenchless technologies. The details on the activity of PFTT are available on the web site www.pftt.pl. Polish Foundation for Trenchless Technologies is both very active in the national and international level. PFTT is one of the co-organizers of so called Polish NO-DIGs it means international conferences organized every second year in Kielce.
Every year in the national competition Polish Foundation for Trenchless Technologies grants a rewards for the best master thesis regarding trenchless technologies. Besides PFTT supports a various initiatives including two polish magazines or organizing a trade fares and conferences.It also joins in the initiatives promoting trenchless technologies.
10 years ago the initiator of the foundation of PFTT was Mr. Arkadiusz Bachan – the director of Per Aarsleff Polska while its first chairman was Mr. Jerzy Adamski – in that time also a chairman of Kielce Waterworks. The consecutive chairman of PFTT was Mr. Marek Banasik while for the last 3 years its chairman has been Mr. Andrzej Kuliczkowski (fig.1). Presently its v-e chairman are: Mr. Wlodzimierz Pala and Benedykt Lipczynski. A members of the Council of Foundation are both natural and legal persons including Economic Chamber Polish Waterworks as well as some companies.
The activities undertaken by PFTT are based on a donation of a council members and so-called supporting members. These second ones are especially promoted by PFTT both in Poland and abroad. The celebration of the 10^th anniversary of PFTT was inaugurated by granting the Jubilee Expert (fig. 2) – the statuettes granted every second year during Polish NO-DIGs. During this year’s NO-DIG 2008 held in Kielce between 09-11.04 the Jubilee Experts were granted to: Mr. Arkadiusz Bachan and Mr. Jerzy Adamski for their personal contribution to the foundation and development of PFTT at the very beginning of its activity. The Jubilee Expert was also granted to Dr Dec Downey – the chairman of ISTT for his outstanding activity in propagating a trenchless technologies in the international level.
